Can understand information in a business conference welcome speech.

本日からChapter 7。テーマはBusiness conference。

本日は、カンファレンスのウェルカムスピーチを聴くというもの。

表現はこちら。

We are delighted to welcome you to the [3rd Annual Seminar on Financial Trends].
The theme for the conference is [risk management in information technology investments].
Before I close, I’d like to remind you that [Mr. Brock Howell will give the first lecture] right after this speech.

歓迎の挨拶も、ほんといろんなパターンあるのね。

あとは、カンファレンスのテーマとか、次のプログラムの紹介とか。

今日はCHALLENGEで1回先生に話をしてもらった時点でタイムアップ。

カンファレンス名とそのテーマが、連続で提供されるのと、人の名前を聞き取るのが大変。

あと、「theme」の発音を正しく教えてもらったのが収穫。なんで、テーマって…別の言語から来てるのかな？

I said: I'm not interesting in investment.
Correct: I'm not interested in investment.

I said: I giving five-minute break.
Correct: There will be a 5-minute break.

リスニングはそのときの集中をMAXにするので、とにかく疲労度が高い。

でも、今日は成果としてはまずまず。

学習時間300時間を超えて、少し成長が感じられるようになってきた。

…でも調子乗ってると叩き落されるので気をつけよ。
